At One BKC, we set out to enhance the site’s horticultural quality and biodiversity within the constraints of a dense urban setting. The plant palette favours hardy, low-maintenance species selected to thrive in shallow soil volumes, polluted air, and variable light — sustaining a layered, year-round greenery while asking less of the maintenance team than the brief required.
Texture, form, and tone are layered to give the planting depth and seasonal interest. Subtle contrasts and dynamic groupings ensure the landscape evolves through the year, rather than freezing into a single image. The result is a quietly resilient urban ecology that performs ecologically and visually, twelve months of the year.
